2015 New York Giants Schedule

Enough about last year! The G-Men and their fans have become accustomed to winning. So when they really didn’t look themselves in 2014, most chalk it up to bad luck and a few poorly timed errors on the field. But all that is behind them now, looking to prove to the world that they are still an excellent football team and ready and able to do battle in a difficult division against the likes of the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Redskins in the NFC East. Both the Cowboys and Eagles are speculated to be strong contenders this year. Romo is looking ever more confident under center with the Cowboys and in Philadelphia the acquisition of QB Sam Bradford, formerly from the Rams organization, means that the Giants certainly won’t have anything handed to them this year. Everything they get they will have to earn. Although the Redskins with their quarterbacking issues are not thought of as a real threat to win the division in 2015, they can always play spoiler and will especially play hard against teams in their division. Notable games on slate for 2015 include October 25th when the Giants host the Dallas Cowboys, November 15th when the Giants host the Patriots, as well as January 3rd when the Philadelphia Eagles come to New York. The game against the Patriots is not only taking on the current Super Bowl Champs, but the continuation of a saga between these two teams whose current quarterbacks faced one another in two Super Bowls both of which Manning’s Giants pulled out for New York and in both those games the Giants were not favored by the bookmakers, so you know that the Patriots want to win this game badly.

Every fan knows that all divisional matchups are critical for the Giants to pick up a win and hand their rivals a loss in order to move up the standings. There are lots of other great NFL games all season on the Giants home turf, MetLife Stadium, and tickets to all these great matchups are available right here. G-Men faithful will also be getting out and being there on the road to support their squad in of course Dallas, Philadelphia and Washington when they do battle in the all important NFC East division games, but that is just the start of a great schedule this year for those who like to go away for a weekend and take in an awesome NFL game as the main event of the trip. Great tickets to all these fantastic NFL games are still available for the true Giants fans who appreciate the lift it gives to the team on the field to be rooted on in foreign lands. And this year’s National Football League games will once again be the place to be all over America all season long.

New York Giants Team Details

Giants quarterback Eli Manning returns not only with a chip on his shoulder from last year, but with the ever strict and successful disciplinarian Tom Coughlin at the helm, alongside without question the most anticipated emerging receiver in the NFL entering just his second season in the League in Odell Beckham Jr. This kid can literally catch anything passed his way. Things are looking way up for New York Giants fans, and there is much to be excited about when the Giants take the field to defend their home turf at the MetLife Stadium.

When you think of the city of New York, the first thing you think of is the New York Giants and New York Yankees when it comes to sports. Maybe the Rangers and the Knicks would get some love too, if they could win a championship of late. But you always think Giants in the football genre, not so much that other New York team, the Jets. And this is with good reason too as the Giants have dominated the NFC over the last decade. They almost always find themselves deep into the playoffs mix, and won their first of two Super Bowls under Eli Manning playing the New England Patriots, where most completely wrote them off, and they prevented what would have otherwise been a perfect season for the Patriots. This team will shock you when you least expect it, and much of that comes back to their stellar head coach and no nonsense team-first approach to the game of football. If the Giants can return to their effective ground-and-pound attack on the ground, stingy defense, and quick scoring offense, the sky is the limit for this team and the playoffs are in sight.

History of New York Giants

The Giants have been one of the most successful franchises in the whole of the NFL. Tickets to Giants games first went on sale back in 1933 and ever since they have given their fans plenty to cheer about. Prior to the 1970 NFL-AFL merger the Giants were NFL Champions four times, after the merger the Giants have won the Super Bowl a further four times. In 1986 and 1990 they had the great Lawrence Taylor spying quarterbacks who always deserves honorable mention and of course their recent two Super Bowls in the Eli Manning era.

So Giants fans it seems never have to look back very far to find winning days. In the current era they are best known for their wins in the more recent Super Bowls against the heavily favored New England Patriots, and making Coach Belichick and his players look like fools for playing their starters in meaningless end of season superfluous matches that meant nothing to the Patriots to improve their seeding and chances of success in the playoffs and Super Bowl XLII in 2007, where the Giants defeated them by a final score of 17 - 14 on a last minute 13-yard Touchdown pass from Eli Manning to Plaxico Burress wide open in the left side of the end zone with :35 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter, becoming the all important “1” in the Patriots 18-1 2007 overall season record, the Giants historically have many more intriguing stories.

When Tom Coughlin arrived in New York to take over as Head Coach, he was for some years met with a measureable level of disdain. Coughlin, an absolute football junkie, was a strict disciplinarian and initially made headlines for punishing his players with fines if they were not present at team meetings five minutes before they were set to commence. He maintained a zero tolerance policy for insubordination and lazy attitudes. This got so bad that in some cases players would either make statements to reporters that they did not want Coughlin as their head coach and in at least one instance asked to be traded from the team. That would have been a mistake in hindsight, as Coughlin would be destined with his iron fist dictatorship coaching style to lead the New York Giants to great success, and they all have the fat Super Bowl rings full of precious jewels and the Giants logo on their fingers of choice to prove it. Once the players bought into the coach’s demands of performance, the team proved that being pushed produces better results than say a team like the Oakland Raiders which organization is known to let their players do as they choose as long as they win on Sundays but while those methods may have worked in the drug induced 1970s football era, the Raiders as the example here don’t typically win on Sundays of late, which shows that in today’s age strict discipline is a much better model. Cash is king these days and players are happy to go wherever they will be paid the best and have a chance to compete for the Super Bowl. New York is a franchise which can offer players the possibility to be in a Super Bowl any year, as history has repeatedly shown. Coaching matters!

Coughlin returns this year amidst speculation he ought to perhaps retire. Coughlin has achieved more in his coaching days than the most elite coaching professionals could dream to achieve, but he loves football more than his own family. Football is his family. That might not be great news for his wife. That is however great news for Giants football fans. There will no doubt be a fall off in performance when Coughlin eventually retires, at least for a season or two, so enjoy the games at MetLife Stadium while the right structures remain in place to see this team succeed. Expect the team to play with some commemoration to former Giants Safety Tyler Sash, who was found dead for reasons still being investigated in his residence at the age of 27. Hopefully that only makes the Giants fight harder in his memory in 2015.

New York Giants Lore

Only one player in Giants Super Bowl history was able to return a kickoff for a Touchdown. Who was he/she?

Ron Dixon, returning 97 yards to score 6 points on a kickoff from the Baltimore Ravens, in Super Bowl XXXV. That was the Giants only score in that contest, they lost Super Bowl XXXV 34-7.

New York Giants Games Live

There is no comparison between the thrill and rush of taking in a Giants game from the stands either at MetLife or following the Giants on the road. This is a great team that will win games this year and the louder their fans are the more games they will win. 2015 is shaping up to be a great year for the New York Giants and their fans. With a quarterback who has more Super Bowl victories than his better recognized older brother Peyton Manning, a star studded lineup on both sides of the ball especially upon the return to the defensive rush by Pierre-Paul, and the most elite brand of coaching in a sport that requires a master strategist to play every aspect of the game in order to bring home wins for the team in New York, this year will be chock full of matchups no Giants fan will want to miss. Book your tickets to all the best NFL games this season, don your favorite jersey, and meet your friends at the best parties and football games of the year, bar none!
