2015 Houston Texans Schedule

The Houston Texans will play host to some of the best teams in the National Football League this season and fans will once again pour into NRG Stadium in Houston to catch the action and find out if Houston can put together a regular season with enough wins to reach the post season. In the last several years the Indianapolis Colts have dominated the standings in the AFC South, however last season the Texans demonstrated by their play on the field that they are a force to be reckoned with and that they refuse to be denied much longer, so that fans are justified to expect that this could well be their breakthrough year. You can’t really fault the Texans on their 2014 performance when they achieved nine wins despite a lot of their best players being severely injured for much of the season. This season the Texans seem poised to do great things and everyone around the league is taking notice of the extreme talent and potential this group of football players have right now with many commentators picking the Texans to make the playoffs this season.

The Texans home turf is NRG Stadium, a world class facility which will be sold out for every home game this season, with hoards of enthusiastic Texans fans being very loud like usual in support of the home team. The atmosphere at a Texans home game is particularly exciting when division rivals come to town to battle it out on the gridiron in front of the Houston crowds including the Tennessee Titans, the Jacksonville Jags and of course the Indianapolis Colts, although these action packed games are only the beginning with the 2015 Texans home schedule showcasing many other of the very best teams in the NFL. In other big time showdowns at home the Texans are going to take on the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Bucs, New York Jets and New Orleans Saints this year, giving fans good reason to scoop up tickets for these major NFL matchups and find out just how good the Texans can be as they are going to win games at home with support from their loyal fans, in order to remain in the playoff picture.

Aside from this exciting home schedule, Texans fans are well known for hitting the road and popping up all around the country to be there to cheer for the Texans to show their support for their team as they wage their road battles against the other premier teams all around the league. Real Texans fans understand the importance of getting wins on the road since it is near impossible to make the playoffs unless you pick up some wins in your away games, so this is precisely the reason why you will always find a lively Texans fan contingent in Nashville, Jacksonville and Indianapolis for those all important divisional rivalries. But that’s just the beginning because there are plenty more top notch opponents this season so that you are sure to find lots of Texans fans travelling all across the country making gameday the high point of their trip away from Houston.  Loyal fans know the extra lift it gives to players to see their fans there with them on foreign turf in order to win games on the road and their fans are going to be there to give the Texans the extra edge that only comes from the players hearing support from the stands when playing away from home. There has never been a better time to be a Texans fan and to watch them compete on the gridiron against their AFC foes in their bid to bring home a division title and set their sights on the playoffs where anything can happen.

Houston Texans Team Details

Even though they missed the playoffs in 2014 for the second season in a row, the Texans improved a lot from their 2–14 record from 2013, and finished 9–7 last year despite serious injury problems. Houston has a very good team once again this year and Texans fans hope to see their team end the season at the top of the standings or at least in a Wild Card position after all the regular season dust has settled. Houston have had the off season to recover from injuries and Texans fans hope that their team can be better than they were in 2014, when their formula for success was their high powered O which showed truly explosive offensive capability, coupled with their star-studded D. This should once again prove to be their recipe for success in 2015 but they are going to need to win football games to advance to the playoffs and the fans are sure to do their part to urge them on. With a roster including J.J. Watt, Arian Foster and so many others, fans who are lucky enough to get their hands on tickets to these premier NFL games this season are in for a special treat where anything is possible at this point for the Texans. You just need to be there in the stands to cheer on your team and enjoy the ride.

This is exactly what keeps Houston Texans fans flooding back into the stands every Sunday. Come out and bear witness to the amazing NFL action right before your very eyes and root for your favorite team in each big Texans battle all season long.

Houston Texans History

The Texans officially joined the NFL in 2002 as an expansion team, returning NFL football to the great football city of Houston since they had been without a pro football franchise since the Houston Oilers were moved to Nashville becoming the Tennessee Titans several years earlier. Houston has a long standing football culture and they welcomed their new franchise passionately right from day one as the team immediately went to work on building its new legacy. Unlike most expansion franchises, partially thanks to the free agent system existing in the league nowadays, the Texans were a good team right from their first couple of seasons and even in their brief franchise history, the Texans have already been very successful, already winning two division titles and establishing a rep as one of the best teams year after year to come out of the AFC.

Houston Texans Lore

Are the Houston Texans the first pro football team to play with the name Texans?

The answer is no. When the Houston Texans joined the NFL in 2002 they took the name Texans and this was formerly the name which had been used by the Dallas Texans which had been an AFL franchise and which was later moved to Kansas City, where they changed their names to the Kansas City Chiefs and where they still remain today. Guess Kansas City Texans would have sounded a bit odd wouldn’t it.

Houston Texans Games Live

The pride of the Texans franchise it their fans. Those who have been to a Texans game at NRG Stadium know what the special feeling is really like there as it is really a unique place in terms of the particular fun atmosphere you only get there. It is no small part of the reason why the Texans play so well that their fans just love their team and the city of Houston has some of the greatest sports fans in the world. When you hear the sights and sounds of an NFL game played out in front of you from the stands you become an active participant in the event, instead of a passive observer from your couch or bar stool. The Texans are taking aim at the AFC South title this season and they have all the weapons on offense and defense to turn this desire into a reality however they have to go through some very good football teams along the way both at home and on the road so it will come down to how they perform and play as a team on the field. The Houston fans are sure to come out to root loudly for their squad both at home and when visiting some great teams around the NFL all season long and it is just going to be fun to watch as this season unfolds and find out what happens.
